ESSENTIAL
BLUES

Essential Blue responds to an era swallowed by digital fatigue and the toxicity of social media—told not through grand narrative, but through the fragile, handcrafted textures of paper-cut animation.

Set in the year 2040, the film quietly follows Miller, a painter living in a world defined by information overload and the breakdown of language. Instead of dramatic action, the story dwells in stillness and subtle collapse.

Throughout the video, a recurring motif—a blue rectangular shape—emerges. This visual distortion, named “Essential Blue,” represents a kind of sensory disorder brought on by the prolonged consumption of undigested data. As the story unfolds, the blue begins to spread, gradually overtaking the entire frame, until all that remains is a void of color and silence.

Nominated for Best Music Video at the 36th Golden Melody Awards.
